Kathryn Graham, BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, RPBio #3162, Prince George, BC
In my current role as a regional manager and biologist with the BC Public Service – Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, I am experienced with serving and acting in the best interest of the public, and have a unique perspective in a non-regulatory government setting. I am confident that my volunteer and career experience have provided me with a diversity of knowledge, skills, and competencies to fulfill the duties of this board position successfully.
Leadership is something that comes naturally to me, personally and professionally. I have been in a leadership role for the last 20 years, including developing and delivering the Leader in You workshop for BC Public Service employees. As a manager, I have ample experience with human resources and financial management and look forward to expanding my role as a CAB board member.
I am very familiar with how the College operates with regards to the regulatory framework including bylaws, Professional Governance Act and Regulations, and policies and standards. Understanding what is required of me as a registrant has provided me the opportunity in my work environment to guide and educate decision makers in how our organization moves forward with maintaining compliance with the PGA and serve in the best interest of the public. Being a board member would allow me to further support the College, ensuring member compliance and education of these policies and standards.

I believe in the value of professional biology and would like to continue to be involved on the Board to help support and improve the practice of biology by upholding the requirements of the Professional Governance Act. I am a strong advocate for professional development, professional accountability, standards of practice and regulation. I would like to continue to work to help the College to uphold the public interest in the practice of professional biology by holding members accountable to the ethical principles of integrity, conduct and competence while pursuing careers in professional biology.
In my past term as a Board member I have contributed to the College by Chairing the Areas of Practice Task Force, participating in the annual conference planning, establishing course content for the Indigenous Awareness and Legal Requirements mandatory training courses, providing routine financial oversight of the College through membership on the Financial Governance Committee and participating in registrant outreach sessions.
Some of my personal strengths that i believe have benefited the College Board are that I am a problem solver who actively tackles challenges head on and am results-oriented and thrive when creating and implementing new initiatives and programs. I am a lifelong learner, always eager to develop new skills and have completed a wide variety of training including leadership, project management, and performance management.

Kristin Storry, RPBio
Kristin Storry, Grieg Seafood BC Ltd., RPBio #2317, Campbell River, BC
Over the last two decades, I’ve had the privilege to work with various resource sectors at both a local and international scale, which includes forestry, aquaculture, tourism, mineral exploration, food processing and wood manufacturing. As a currently Registered Professional Biologist and previously Registered Professional Forester, my focus in the professional realm has revolved around successfully implementing change in relation to compliance, sustainability initiatives, integrated systems, and emergency response.
My career, and passion, relies upon my skill set of understanding legislation, standards, policies etc., interpreting the intent and effectively implementing the requirements throughout an organization. With the Province leading the way, globally, by regulating Applied Biology as a reserved practice, my passion and professional expertise have collided. And I am very excited. I know that my skill set would be valuable to the CAB as they continue to navigate the implementation of the reserved practice requirements for those working in the applied biology field in BC.
On a personal note, when I am not at the office, you will find me out in nature with my two young kids and Bernese mountain dog. We enjoy exploring all that Campbell River and the North Island has to offer and spend most of our summer vacations camping off grid.

I am a Registered Professional Biologist, practicing for 24 years as an ecologist, regulatory advisor and manager. Since 2020, I have had the pleasure of being a board member with College of Applied Biologists, over which time it has transitioned to comply with the Professional Governance Act. This is an exciting time to be an applied biology professional. With reserved practice now in effect, we are (finally) recognized, in law and in practice, as professionals with a clearly defined role in managing BC’s natural resources in the public interest.
I am currently completing my second term as a Board member with CAB, also serving on the Financial Governance Committee and Conference Planning Working Group. I have very much enjoyed my time on the CAB Board as we moved to reserved practice. During this time, I have observed impressive improvements in processes and professionalism associated with the organization’s operations and governance. This important work continues as CAB continues to evolve to meet the requirements of the Professional Governance Act.
What I bring to the role of Board member are strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of Board governance, and an enthusiasm to advance the standing of applied biology professionals in BC and beyond. I would be pleased and proud to serve another term on the CAB Board and hope I can count on your support.
