These terms and conditions (“Agreement”) set forth the general terms and conditions of your use of the https://www.cab-bc.org/ website (“Website” or “Service”) and any of its related products and services (collectively, “Services”). This Agreement is legally binding between you (“User”, “you” or “your”) and the College of Applied Biologists of British Columbia”, “we”, “us” or “our”). If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to this agreement, in which case the terms “User”, “you” or “your” shall refer to such entity. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree with the terms of this agreement, you must not accept this agreement and may not access and use the Website and Services. By accessing and using the Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. You acknowledge that this Agreement is a contract between you and College of Applied Biologists of British Columbia, even though it is electronic and is not physically signed by you, and it governs your use of the Website and Services.

How the College of Applied Biologists Collects Information
Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of numbers that serve as that computer’s ‘Internet Protocol’ IP address. When a user visits our website, our web servers automatically recognize that visitor’s domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address of the computer from which you have accessed our site. We use this information to examine our traffic, but do not collect and evaluate this information for individuals. Our web servers do not record the email addresses of visitors.
Certain parts of the College of Applied Biologists website – such as the registrant portal — are reserved for our registrants, applicants, and Board and committee volunteers representing the public interest. If you choose to login to one of our online services, we may ask for personal information such as your College registration number, password, email address, or birth date. This information confirms your identity to grant you access to these protected pages . Registrants are required to submit verification of their identity. Please note that the College has security measures in place to protect your personal information while using these secured pages and while making any payments to the College of Applied Biologists online.
The College is also required to be in compliance with British Columbia’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) and all personal information collected by the College is handled in accordance with FOIPPA.

The College of Applied Biologists periodically sends emails to its registrants for a variety of purposes. Should you wish to unsubscribe to particular types of email, please follow the link which appears at the bottom of each email. We advise against unsubscribing to College Notices because they contain essential information for registrants such as notification of dues deadlines, changes to statutory processes and registration requirements, information for practice, and College events.
Please note that pursuant to Canada’s Anti-spam Law, the College requires expressed permission from a user to restore them to a distribution list if they have previously unsubscribed. If you have reason to believe that you are no longer receiving College emails and would like to continue receiving them, please contact the College office.
Other Websites
When you use a link to go from a page on the College of Applied Biologists website to another website, the College of Applied Biologists privacy policy is no longer in effect. This privacy policy applies only to the College’s website. You should read the privacy policy of each site that you visit to determine what information that site may be collecting about you.
